To resume office here in UK you need two years visa and working permit. You may also have to register with the UK Home Office UK Border Agency. If you are not a British citizen or a European Economic Area (EEA) citizen, or a Swiss national, you may need a visa before you can visit the UK. You can apply for a visa at a British Overseas Mission in your own country. If you are approved, the visa will be put in your passport. Having a visa does not always mean you can work in the UK. If the visa says 'prohibited' on it you will need a work permit to work in the UK.

A work permit for foreign nationals is a prerequisite for employment in UK. Private sector industrial enterprises desiring to employ foreign nationals are required to apply  in advance to UKBA in the prescribed from. For expatriate employment the guidelines are as follows:-

1. Nationals of countries recognized by Bangladesh are considered for employment.
   
2. Employment of expatriate personnel will be considered only in industrial/commercial establishments which are sanctioned/registered by the appropriate authority.
   
3. Employment of foreign nationals is normally considered for the job for which local experts/technicians are not available.
   
4. Persons below 18 years of age are not eligible for employment.
   
5. A decision of the board of directors of the concerned company for new employment/employment extension is to be furnished in each case.
   
6. The number of foreign employees should not exceed 5% in the industrial sector and 20% in commercial sector of the total employees, including top management personnel.
   
7. Initially employment of any foreign national is considered for a term of two years, which may be extended on the basis of merit of the case.
   
8. Ministry of Home Affairs will issue necessary security clearance certificate.

To make a payment you must first complete your visa application form, so that the system can calculate the fees due. Once you have completed your application form, you will see an account details where you have to make the payment and book an appointment interview.

If you have already completed your application online you can still make a payment after file number, Date of Birth and Passport Number Kindly select the following option to proceed further.

All applicants submitting visa application via post must select “UK-LONDON” as “INDIAN MISSION” while filling the online form. Application forms filled for other Indian Missions (Birmingham/Edinburgh) in the UK WILL NOT be accepted at the postal application center for Indian visa. All the supporting documents/letters should be addressed to the UK High Commission of India.
